On the flip side, there is absolutely no job security. Once a commission is finished, it's finished. I have to constantly seek out the next client. There is also no insurance of any kind. And perhaps the biggest downside is... well, the phrase "starving artist" was coined for a reason. People only pay so much for art, and now that the economy is practically sinking into the second Great Depression, there is less and less money for luxury items, such as art and commissions.
Work is indeed scarce, and I need some supplemental income soon. I think when school around here starts up again, I will be applying to be a teacher's aide. I love to teach, and little kids are not as intimidating as some coworkers can be. Besides that, I don't need a degree and can work part-time so I still have time to do commissions and all the other chores around here I have to keep up with. I miss elementary school! Maybe I can live vicariously through the students there. Hope I can land a job at a nice school!
Anyway, I'm happy some people are wanting to buy and commission some more stamps from me. I'll be uploading heavily watermarked images of them soon. It will be a line called Sugar On Top. There will be more details later, as it's still in idea phase right now. Wish me luck!
Oh, and because I LOVE rainbows, and also to make my journal a little prettier (man, I really need to sit down and design a graphic layout for this thing sometime), I'm gonna include some more images I find here on DA. I think that will be a new theme I do in my journals, where I search a random keyword and post 5 images I find. Not only will it help my journal be prettier, but it will give some artists some more exposure.

NEW POLL!
Have you ever broken a bone?
I never have and I hope I never will! I don't usually participate in any sports that would be that damaging, such as skateboarding or the likes, but accidents can happen anywhere. I remember a story my dad told me about his experience with a broken bone. In high school, he was on the pole vaulting team, but he missed and when he landed, he broke his shin bone. He said the gave him a shot to put him out, and told him to count backwards from 10. He said, "I almost got to nine before I was out."
There was also a book I read in high school (I can't remember the name) about soldiers in the army, and someone dying from a broken bone... Something about the marrow leaking out into the blood stream or something. I didn't know that was possible. Is it possible to die from a simple broken bone in such a manner?
