The movers are coming tomorrow morning to move us to our new house. The last two and a half days have been absolutely exhausting. We've been putting in about 16 hours each day just prepping the house and cleaning. We did not get done till 4:00 am last night. It's 2:30 am right now, and I'm back at the duplex resting a bit. I still have to clean out the fridge and pop over to my parents' to drop off the food we want to keep.

My feet are in absolute shambles! I was lucky enough to inherit flat arches from my dad (no, they aren't actually flat, they just hurt like a bitch and don't support as much weight as they should) and I have bad blisters on each pinky. D: It reminds me of when I used to pull twelve-hour shifts back when I worked for that doctor in Townsend, Massachusetts.

My birthday came and went just fine. Most of it was spent at the new house cleaning. But we did find enough time for my lovely boyfriend to stop by the store and get me a cake. He even lit the candles and sang me the birthday song. And then I opened my CINTIQ!!

Aaaand played with it about 2 seconds. Yeah, seriously. Nothing was wrong with it. No dead pixels or anything, and the screen was crisp, bright, and beautiful. But all we had time to do was get through the setup and calibration, then I had to pack it back up and move it on over to the new house. I really, REALLY can't wait, now! I was so patient before, and didn't even get time to play with it. What can I say? There was just WAY too much to be done at that house before the movers came. But I am pleased to say that everything is now ready for the movers there.

The worst part were the kitchen cabinets. Talk about CREEPY. There were mouse holes (covered now, soon to be puttied back up) and mouse droppings, and mouse poison, and broken glass, and we pulled out a few things we're still not sure of (which is honestly for the best). Rob was cleaning the cabinets last night and saw rat poop in them, and nearly got his finger caught in a loaded rat trap, then reached right into a big glob of rat poison. That was NOT fun.

We went to Home Depot tonight, though, and after vigorous scrubbing and scraping and washing, we finally got all the cabinets cleaned up, and put in brand new shelving paper in them. They now smell good and look great.

The net will not be hooked up at our new place until late the 29th, so I won't be on for a while, but that will give me a much needed respite and chance to finally catch up on these commissions I've got going on (with my Cintiq, yay!)

I am absolutely wiped out. I'm just writing while giving my feet a breather. They feel like they are about to break. Anyway, I still have one more trip out to make, so I'm going to dig down deep somewhere to find the will to get going.
